'' When I walked into the Fever FM studio in 2009 to promote a little Bollywood karaoke fundraiser I was organising for the people of Gaza, I never ever thought that I would still be there almost 10 years later as one of the station's regular presenters. Or that it would ultimately lead me to a career with the BBC. But that's exactly what happened, and tomorrow from 8pm I present my last show on Fever before starting a new job soon with BBC Radio Leeds. I would never have done it without Fever FM. I have had an absolute blast presenting hundreds of shows over the years, starting with my 'Brimful of Aisha' slot, to the unbridled hilarity and fun of the Bhindi and Bhengun Express with my partner in crime DeeJay Khalda, to more recently co-presenting the Mr and Mrs Khan Show with my other half Woody Khan and 'treating' listeners to some couples therapy disguised as radio banter! Fever FM is a fantastic community resource which gives people of many ages and backgrounds a chance to learn a whole host of new skills and gain confidence. It's also a brilliant platform for reaching often hard to reach communities - I just wish the people in power really knew and appreciated what a valuable resource it is and can be. And the listeners are the most wonderful and loyal ever. It really is a Fever Family! Thanks Jabbar Karim for your support over the years, and your continuing dedication, passion and infectious energy. It's au revoir not goodbye, but THANK YOU! I'll be off the air, but I'll always have the Fever!! xxx ''
