Founder and Managing Director of Fever Radio, a prominent community Asian Radio Station. Also an on-air presenter.
Visionary Founder: Jabbar Karim has been a pioneering force in West Yorkshire’s Asian community radio scene since 1989, when he launched the first underground Asian FM radio station in Leeds, Radio Apni Awaaz (Our Voice).
Community Cohesion: He is recognised for working hard to build community and unity through Fever Radio, which serves all South Asian communities in Leeds and helps bridge gaps with the mainstream Media.
Talent Nurturer: Jabbar is known for discovering and developing new broadcasting talent; several of the station's presenters have gone on to work for the BBC Radio and other mainstream media outlets.
Influential Figure: He was named Leeds' Most Influential People of 2021 and 2023.
